Energetic Identity Death

A big thing people will be experiencing over the next few years is an identity death. I know it sounds bad and dramatic. But actually, it allows rebirth, transformation and growth. You will be feeling this in your personal life and in the world. We are at a time where massive transformation is taking place. In a way it is removing old illusions, outgrown beliefs and freeing yourself from old forms of manipulation and control. Ok maybe this change is kind of dramatic, ha! But it is important to understand the changes you are experiencing. So, what is identity? Identity is the distinguishing character or personality of an individual. It can be qualities that we have or beliefs that we hold. So, what can we do to navigate through this change? And what awareness should we have about how our identity is changing?

As we grow and develop as young children we try and establish our own identity. We may think it is what we like or participate in. We may think it is the way we dress or who we hang out with. Think about the normal groups in schools. You have the smart kids, the athletic kids, the creative ones, and maybe even the ones that rebel against any grouping. These simple groupings can influence who you think you are. What you think you should believe. And the role that you play with the people around you. Even in our families as very young children we create our identity. Are you the nice and easy one, the one that requires more attention, the one that helps everyone, the one that makes everyone laugh and more. As you decide what works for you, you develop into a role, create beliefs and establish your identity.

What has been happening now is that many people are having an energetic identity death. You may have outgrown your old identity that you developed early on. You may no longer fit the old role, beliefs and behaviors that once suited you. You may be shedding things that you no longer want to carry. You are going back to your authentic self and starting over. Who do I want to be now? What beliefs make sense to me? Who do I want to share my time and energy with? It is a huge change, but you are ready for it. You may be craving it. As we grow, we naturally evolve and change our identity. But this is a complete identity change. Altering core programing you may have believed couldn’t change. People pleasers are no longer generous with their energy. Empathic people are choosing not to feel or attach as much to other’s needs and energy. And we are seeing people that are increasing their empathy and learning to feel more from others.

People are finding balance in their identity. But that may take swinging from one extreme to the next before you find your center. So be patient with yourself and others as so many people are going through an energetic identity death. Give yourself permission to change. See what parts of you there is to explore and expand. If you have held back your own growth and achievements so others are more comfortable, decide it is time for you to soar. If you have relied on others too much to fill what you have been missing in your life, it may be time to create and fulfill yourself. Think of a superhero, they hide the best parts of themselves and when they do bring them out, they have a disguise. You no longer must hide the best parts of yourself. You can be strong, you can grow, achieve and succeed. You can learn self-reliance, empathy and a new way to love. What is your superpower that has been hidden, and think about why you needed to hide it?

Is it time for Clark Kent to just be Superman all the time? What is changing with your identity? Who are you letting yourself be? What have you held back or suppressed? What are you allowing yourself to grow and experience more of? If you have held back, it’s time to shine. If you have relied on others to fulfill you, is it time for self-growth and empowerment? Discover what is changing in your energetic identity death. Then explore and become the best version of your untapped and now free potential.
